This is a long and thick sword that was used by some great warriors. It is believed to be one of the greatest swords of all time.

It served as a primary fighting weapon for the ninja and the samurai. Today, I am explaining how the katana sword was used by these two warriors and how their respective swords differ.

Who Are Ninja and Samurai?

Ninja and samurai were ancient Japanese warriors. These two have earned a name in history due to their unique fighting styles. These are believed to be one of the all-time great warriors.

They regarded the katana sword as their primary warfare weapon. However, both used different versions of katana. Let’s explore their respective swords.

The Samurai Katana Sword

Samurai took pride in their katana sword. It became a permanent part of the samurai traditions. A samurai always stayed equipped with a katana because it was hanging around his shoulder all the time.

A samurai katana had a thick and a very long blade. There was always a small curve on the blade, typically towards the bottom. This small curve was the recognition of this sword.

The Ninja Katana Sword

Ninja warriors also used a katana sword as their primary fighting sword. They are known for using plenty of other weapons such as shuriken and kunai.

However, the real fighting weapon was the katana. Their katana sword had a long and thick blade. The blade was straight as an arrow without a curve.

So, What’s the Difference?

The difference between the ninja and samurai versions of the katana sword lies in the curve on the blade. A ninja katana had no curve at all. Samurai katana always had a small curve at the bottom!
